The Institute of Applied Data Science welcomes Dr Huy Phan, Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence at School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Queen Mary University of London.
Huy is a Lecturer (roughly equivalent to Assistant Professor) in Artificial Intelligence at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Queen Mary University of London (UK). Before he was a Lecturer at the School of Computing, University of Kent (UK) and a postdoctoral researcher in the CIBIM lab at the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford (UK), working with Prof. Maarten De Vos. Huy obtained his PhD (Dr.-Ing. in German system) with summa cum laude in the Institute for Signal Processing, University of Lübeck (Germany) under the supervision of Prof. Alfred Mertins. He received the Bernd Fischer Award for the best PhD thesis from the University of Lübeck. In 2021, he was awarded Benelux's IEEE-EMBS Best Paper Award 2019-20.
Huy investigate topics in the fields of machine learning / deep learning and signal processing. He is particularly interested in speech/audio analysis, biosignal analysis, and healthcare applications.
