The Turing online training call - funding opportunity
22 September 2020
The Alan Turing Institute is pleased to invite training proposals for a new funding call aimed at offering free online training for the data science and AI research community. This initiative is one of the first steps the Turing is taking towards enhancing the training offering on a national level, and so the Turing is inviting all researchers affiliated with a UK-based university, training body or research institution to submit proposals.
The funding of up to £10,000 is offered for each of the 5-10 successful training initiatives, and the grants are aimed at primarily covering lesson development and teaching time.
The call is currently open to researchers employed by/ affiliated with a UK university, including those in the Turing community: Turing Fellows, Turing Research Fellows, Turing employees or researchers at a Turing partner university.
Interested applicants should consider how proposed training fits in with the Turing wider research agenda, how proposals bring added value to the available online training in this space, what will be achieved through the training proposal, who the desired audience is and what steps will be taken to ensure effective learning and whether open source resources be provided in preparation for the training, intellectual property and equality, diversity and inclusion.
More information about this funding opportunity can be found here.
Applications close on 20 October 2020 (11.59am).
