Future AI and IP Framework Roundtable

Professor Chris Reed, Professor of Electronic Commerce Law at Centre for Commercial Law Studies, School of Law, Queen Mary University of London, will participate in the Future of AI and IP Framework roundtable event, organised by UK Government's Office for AI and Intellectual Property Office.

The UK Government published its response to the AI and intellectual property call for views which asked questions about the impact of AI for intellectual property rights and the intellectual property framework and outlines its conclusions and next steps. In response to the publication of the government response, the IPO are keen to continue consulting with researchers, academics and industry. The IPO want to understand how best to protect AI generated inventions and creations, and how to ensure AI has wide access to creative works.

The event, scheduled for Monday, 24 May, 11.00-12.00, will include top academic legal experts discussing how to protect AI generated inventions and ensure AI access to creative works.
